弗拉基米尔·霍洛维茨(Vladimir Horowitz,1903年10月1日-1989年11月5日),世界最负盛名的钢琴家之一,美籍俄罗斯人。他在很早就显露出极高的音乐天赋,先后师从俄罗斯和德国演奏大师,集俄罗斯学派与德国学派之大成。1924年他到柏林、巴黎举行旅行演出,获得很大成功。1928年赴美,与托马斯·比彻姆爵士指挥的纽约爱乐合作,在布什戈尔茨钢琴上演奏出柴科夫斯基钢琴协奏曲,一举成名。他曾停止演奏达十二年之久,1965年,霍洛维茨在卡内基大厅举行重返舞台的独奏音乐会,轰动世界乐坛。霍洛维茨的演奏技巧辉煌而潇洒,音乐更趋向深刻完美,表现手段更丰富。同时,他的演奏能充分地表现出乐曲的内容,但又不是盲目地尊重原作。最难能可贵的是,他很像一位熟练的编辑,能把乐曲作者的“错别字、漏字”等失误加以订正,使作品达到完美无缺的状态。他的演奏相当广泛,尤以弹奏肖邦、斯卡拉蒂以及舒曼、李斯特、斯克里亚宾等名家的作品见长。1989年,霍洛维茨带着他可谓空前绝后的音乐演奏天赋,在纽约的家中安然逝去。
